Marguerite B.

"Marguerite B." is an audio drama podcast shot in studio and in natural settings.

The heroine, Marguerite is a librarian, and double agent at the service... of Art!
40 candles just blown out, three children, three ex-husbands, a deep sens of humour, Marguerite wanders between physical trials and abnormal adventure, openings of spatio-temporal faults and encounters with the dead. Accompanied by her cat Hercules, she is ready to do anything to pursue her mission: to save from oblivion or incomprehension, artists and heritage places.

👉 For the first season, Marguerite goes to the Church of the Annunciation in Nice, on behalf of the library where she officiates. But nothing goes as planned. She is embarked on an imaginary journey, imbued with the life and work of Sainte-Rita and Yves le Monochrome, and which emerges as a mirror of our contemporary era. With these three, it is the story of a material and spiritual transformation. A form of alchemy where we rub shoulders with holy martyrs, drafts and a blue cat.

Glossary of the world of Marguerite B.

During season 1, you will discover:

Hercules:

A sidekick of Marguerite, Hercules is a strong cat. With his lion's coat, he is capable of great deeds to save artists and places of heritage from oblivion or incomprehension.

Sainte-Rita:

Rita Mancini was born on May 22, 1381 in the village of Roccaponera in Umbria. She embodies resistance to violence and intolerance, in a context of infighting and vendetta that resulted in the deaths of her husband and two sons. She also the symbol of hope, succeeding in spite of the many obstacles, to integrate the monastery of the Augustinian sisters in order to be able to dedicate her life to God. In Nice, whose cult in Sainte-Rita began in 1935, within the Church of the Annunciation, she continues to be the custodian of lost and desperate causes.

The miracle of the rose:

In the life and spiritual work of Sainte-Rita (1381-1457), the rose is the symbol of hope. On the threshold of her life, which she has devoted entirely to the love of her neighbor, Rita de Cascia hatches in the middle of winter, in her native garden, a dazzling and fragrant rose.

Prayer to Sainte-Rita:

Originally from Nice, the artist Yves Klein (1928-1962) venerated Sainte-Rita (1381-1457) whose worship is celebrated in the Church of the Annunciation. He even visited her in Cascia, Umbria, where the saint's body is kept intact in her original monastery. Several years after Klein's death, the nuns discovered, by the greatest of luck, an ex voto made by the artist, containing blue and pink pigment, gold leaf, and a prayer addressed to the saint: "Always protect everything I have created so that, even in spite of myself, it is always of great beauty".

Air architecture:

Yves Klein dreamed of a work on the scale of the world: immense, endless, immaterial. In collaboration with the architect Claude Parent, he thus designed, at the end of the 1950s, a utopian city made up of water walls, fire fountains and air roofs. Freed from all frontiers and heaviness, its inhabitants are contributing to the advent of a new society where awareness of space is meant to be permanent.

Anthropometries:

Created by Yves Klein in 1960, the “Anthropometries” make naked bodies, covered with blue paint, dance on the space of the canvas. By this imprint, the perishable flesh is thus transmuted into a perennial trace which opens onto the depths of the invisible and the mystery of the Incarnation.
